Richard Lane initially qualified with a diploma of remedial massage at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies in Sydney in 2001 and he has been practising continuously since this time.
Since qualification, he provided remedial massage services from a clinic in Maroubra until 2007. Subsequently he has been solely offering mobile massage to the Inner West and Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and is available for home massage 7 days a week during the day/evenings. Whilst he is registered with health funds as a provider of remedial massage, unfortunately rebates are generally not available for home massages (unless you are with NIB, Australian Unity or CBHS).
Although his initial training was through ACNT, much of his subsequent study has been through Nature Care College, St Leonards. The course and qualifications obtained there include:
− Diploma of Sports Therapies
− Certificate in Myofascial Release
− Certificate in Trigger Point Therapy
− Certificate in Pregnancy Massage
He also also studied Deep Tissue massage under Art Riggs and has received training in Heartworks Lomi Lomi Level 1 massage.
From 2012 to 2015 he has been part of a team of therapists providing weekly sports massage to the AFL team, the GWS Giants.
Richard's style is to provide remedial therapy through incorporating his training, experience and style, providing massage services for female and male clients to achieve their goals which may be relief from pain/discomfort and improved flexibility/mobility yet not forgetting that massage can (and should) be relaxing as well as therapeutic. This can be effective for those who are suffering from headaches, neck tightness or lower back pain.
For those who prefer a deep tissue and strong sports massage then he will work slowly and deeply so that you feel the bodywork at the pressure and intensity you desire, without the sensations of feeling battered and bruised for days after your massage. If you prefer a gentler massage with a greater emphasis on relaxation then his approach is to be adaptable and sensitive to your requirements.
